Sunde Lynn Nelson

1967 - 2021

Sunde Lynn Nelson, 54, of Keokuk, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Sunde was born July 15, 1967, in Keokuk, the daughter of Thomas Fredrick Greer and Sandra (Mortimer) Greer Ellis.

On Dec. 15, 1986, she was united in marriage with Brad Nelson in Keokuk. They later separated.

Sunde had the unique talent of taking yard sale finds and turning them into treasures. She was always decorating and could make any house a home. She loved Marilyn Monroe, and doted on her three chihuahuas, Eisen, Isabella Lynn and Angel. Throughout her physical issues, Sunde stayed connected with friends and family through Facebook and social media, logging on every day.

Sunde is survived by her husband Brad Nelson of Bonaparte; her boyfriend Chris McVeigh of Keokuk; her brother Martin Greer; her sister Quianna (David) Brookhart; her aunt Mona Heger (Mortimer, Bawden); her uncle Percy (known also as "Bub", "Marty" or "Mort") Mortimer; her sister-in-law Belinda Greer (Moore, Balentine); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sunde was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father George Ellis; and two brothers, Thomas Greer, II and Lewis Greer.

Due to COVID-19, services will be held at a later date.
