Wilbur C. Pfeiff, 93, of formerly of Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at Oak Lane Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Stronghurst, Illinois.
Born on Nov. 23, 1931, in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur and Esther (Gieselman) Pfeiff. On Dec. 18, 1953, in Burlington, he married Nancy L. Ford, she survives.
Wilbur retired from Burlington Community School District, where he worked for many years. He was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church.
In his free time he loved to tinker around on tractors and enjoyed working out on his farm. Wilbur was a handyman and could fix anything. Most of all Wilbur loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Nancy; two children, Timothy (Julie) Pfeiff of Comfort, Texas, and Teesa (Wayne) Kershner of Burlington; three grandchildren, Drew Pfeiff, Amanda (Ben) Hicks and Colton Kershner; and two great-grandchildren, Nancy and Thomas Hicks. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
