Bill and I go back to grade school in Mt. Greenwood growing up together. It's amazing how all those childhood friends stayed in touch with each other through the years. Bill was always a kind, caring and helpful person. I had many special interactions with kind deeds that he did and then finally we stayed in touch through occasional e-mails.
We will miss you my friend.
Fondly,
Leslie Gratton

I have been Bill's friend ever since we first met at Morgan Park High School in Chicago. I didn't know it then but those years would stay memorable with me. Bill and I graduated in 1961 and rarely saw each other but stayed in touch. We actually met each other last at our 50th Reunion and Bill as usual played a big role in setting up that event. I spoke to him last a few months ago by phone not knowing it would be our last contact. Thinking back, Bill's gift to me would always be the many happy moments and laughs we shared as we did on that call.

Bill will be missed. He was a second father to me. Growing up going to his law office in Belgrade and the lake house in Polson. This hurts my heart to write. I love you Bill ride those big blue waves. Love you so much. Give Carol a huge hug for me.

Bill, Chicago high school friend through the ages, will be sorely missed by all those whose life he touched in his community (VFW, Boys Club, Kiwanis), his love of sailing, his work as an attorney, his travels, opening his Montana abodes to all he knew and bringing together his friends and family.
