Elizabeth Wise Obituary

Elizabeth Waycaster Wise, age 74, of the Green Valley Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Margaret McKinney Waycaster, and the wife of Delmar Gene Wise. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Robinson, and a brother, David Waycaster.
Elizabeth was the office administrator for their family business, G & R Power Equipment, for a number of years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She loved going shopping and going out to eat with family and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved going on long walks. One of her favorite hobbies was riding motorcycles, especially the Harley-Davidson, and she was always ready to venture off traveling, taking in different sights and places. One thing she was definitely a big fan of was Miss Faye's famous peanut butter candy. Memories of Elizabeth will be cherished and held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, Delmar Gene Wise of Spruce Pine, she is survived by their son, Rodney Wise; grandson, Kaiden Wise of Spruce Pine; a brother, Paul Waycaster (Sondra) of Spruce Pine; and special friends: Candi and Ricky Hall, and Lela Rhyne.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Darrin Waldroup officiated. Burial followed in the Harris Memorial Cemetery. The family will received friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the services.
