Roger Peterson Obituary

Roger Dean Peterson, age 62, of the Poplar "capitol of the world" community passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 3, 2025. He was a son of the late Marvin and Peggy Letterman Peterson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Peterson Miller and a nephew, Andy Austin.
Roger enjoyed taking rides on his four-wheeler, fireworks on the 4th of July, and loving on his dogs, Max and Pandora. He was a huge supporter of the Carolina Pushrodz car show in Poplar, spending countless hours mowing and building picnic tables for the event. He was a very quiet person until you got him going.
Surviving is his beloved longtime girlfriend, Lydia Hollified of Poplar; son, Timmy Johnson and girlfriend, Karissa as well as her daughter, Addison of Green Mountain; brother, Rick Peterson (Vicki) of Poplar; sisters, Rachel Austin (J.C.) of Burnsville and Theresa Crow Briggs (Keith) of Green Mountain; niece, Lindsey; nephews: Ryan, Josh (Kyleigh), and Cody (Shaylee); and his dogs, Max and Pandora.
A private service will be held at a later date.
