Aaron Smiley passed away peacefully at home in Moab, Utah on February 25th 2025. Aaron was only 38 years old.

Aaron was born on February 2, 1987, in Shiprock, New Mexico to Andrea Smiley. Aaron had an older brother Joseph and a younger sister Autumn. When Aaron was in Elementary school, he and his family moved to Moab, Utah. In 1991, after living in Moab for a few years, Aaron moved in with his best friend Travis Stott, his parents Karen and Dan Stott and younger brother Christopher Stott. Aaron was raised as one of their sons from then on.

Aaron played football growing up, then during his senior year of High School, he helped win the State Championship Game. He was always proud to be called a red devil Aaron graduated from Grand County High School in Moab, Utah in June of 2006.

After he graduated Aaron went to work full-time at Dan Stott Drywall for his dad. Around 2011 Aaron set out on a new adventure and moved to North Dakota to work in Oil Fields. He was very dedicated to his job as a foremen He continued to work hard and was able to buy his dream Truck. It meant everything to him. Aaron ended up moving back to Moab in 2022 due to health issues but also because he missed his family. Aaron got a job working at Lisbon valley mine for a few months before he got a job working for Harrison's, where he continued to work until his passing.

Aaron loved his family more than anything else. He was a great son, Brother, uncle, and friend. He always went out of his way to help not only his family but anyone else out. Aaron was a good-hearted, kind soul, Though he was intervorted his presence was very known when he was around. He truly lit up the room with his smile and good humor. Aaron took advantage of spending time with family every chance he got. From birthdays to holidays, and any family trip he could go on. He was always there!

Aaron is survived by his parents; Andrea Smiley and Daniel and Karen Stott. His siblings; Joseph Smiley, Travis Stott, Christopher Stott, and Autumn Knight. His nieces and nephews; Zander Beason, Kashus Beason, Tyler Stott, Aiden Stott, Devon Stott, Terrell Smiley, Kamaya Smiley, Kalyana Smiley, Strater Smiley and Kaloni Smiley. And of course, other family and friends. Aaron will forever be missed.

Viewing: The Viewing for Aaron will be held at Moab Community Church (544Mivida Drive Moab, Utah) on March 7th, 2025, from 10:30am-11:30am

Funeral Services: The Funeral Services will be held at the Moab Community Church, 544 N Mivida Drive, Moab, UT. on March 7th, 2025, from 12pm-1pm

Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1900 Spanish Valley Drive, Moab, UT. 84532

A family and friends Potluck gathering will follow the Graveside Service at Moab Community Church (544 Mivida Drive Moab, Utah)

Donations and flowers may be sent to San Juan Morturary in Aaron Smiley's name.

Although I did not know Aaron personally, he was my nephew on his mom, Andrea's side of the family. I'm sorry that I did not get the chance to meet him but I'm sure he is at peace now with all the relatives he never got a chance to meet. Rest in peace my dear nephew.

So sorry to hear about Aaron. We worked together finishing our retaining wall at our home in Moab. He was very talented in operating a backhoe! And also very nice and friendly.
