George Larsen Obituary

George Amasa Larsen

1965 ~ 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father, George Amasa Larsen, who was taken from us suddenly on August 13, 2024, near Monticello.

George was born on February 22, 1965. He lived the majority of his life in Moab, Utah, where he was born. Although from time to time he would venture to other places for short periods, he always found his way back home. It was almost as if the red cliffs called to him, and he could never stay away long. More often than not he could be found outdoors. Whether it be looking for arrowheads or dinosaur bones, working on vehicles, driving his jeep on the slick rock, being a daredevil and jumping off the power dam or climbing some of the most impossible of cliffs. He lived on the edge all of his life and enjoyed life to the fullest.

George was stubborn. If you said he couldn't do it or it was impossible to be done, he would find a way just to prove you wrong. If you told him he wasn't allowed to do to it, he'd do it just out of spite. I'm sure there wasn't a rule he didn't break. At times this made him hard to love, but he was loved nonetheless.

He loved his family and had a huge heart. Doing what he could for those he considered family and friends.

He is predeceased by both his mother Darlenne Mae Larsen and father Willard Grant Larsen, and his brother Richard Larsen. He is survived by daughters Jessi Cain, Sarah Woodward, and Shayla Hagar. His son Raymon Larsen. His sisters Robin Larsen and Sally Hink. His grandsons Tyson & Corbin Cain, Alexander Hutchinson. His granddaughters Jaime, Sativa, & Luna Larsen.

We invite all who cherished George to join us in a ceremony of remembrance at the power dam on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10am, where we will share stories, laughter, and tears.

A private service will be held at the cemetery on Friday, August 23, for close family.

Family and friends are invited to share tributes online at SpanishValleyMortuary.com or SVMC.US.
