Moab, UT- Robert Kelly Tibbitts was born on December 10th 1944 to Robert & Hallie Tibbitts in Moab, Utah. He led a very colorful life ranching in Moab, teaching, traveling and working as a carpenter from California to North Carolina. After losing his wife to cancer in 2016, he moved back to Moab and spent the last of his years there hiking every day with his two dogs, Sara Rose and Sandy Jean. He was a passionate carpenter and an amazing artist. He loved his family, dogs, pipe and good Scotch whiskey!
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert & Hallie Tibbitts, wife Linda Jean Tibbitts and brother Cap Tibbitts. He is survived by his children, Joe and Angie Tibbitts and stepchildren Michele Whitaker and Michael T King, grandchildren Michael Andrew King, Frankie Tibbitts, Joseph Tibbitts Jr, Jordan Proehl, Jessica Proehl, Olivia Valdez and Skylar Tibbitts along with his sisters Nancy Inskeep, Susan Swasey, Jennifer Tibbitts, and many great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at the Grand County Sunset Cemetery on August 16th 2025 at 10am. Celebration of life will be held for both Robert Kelly Tibbitts and Linda Jean Tibbitts at the home of Joe Tibbitts.
