Andrew Soderstrom Obituary
April 11, 1955 - April 29, 2020
Dr. Andy Soderstrom, pediatric dentists and longtime resident of Modesto, CA, died due to an accident at home on April 29, 2019. Andy was 65 years old.
Andy, or "Dr. Andy" as he was often known, is survived by his wife, Donna Desmond Soderstrom, children Matt (and Stacy) Soderstrom, Jill Soderstrom (and Jeff Blesy), mother Elizabeth Turri Soderstrom, sister Dr. Susan Soderstrom (Paul Larimer), brothers Steve (and Judi) Soderstrom, and Dr. Peter (and Melissa) Soderstrom, and the lights of his life, his grandchildren Reagan Soderstrom (age 4) and Blake Soderstrom (age 1).
To continue Andy's mission of compassion for children and our community, donations may be made in Andy Soderstrom's name to the College Area Neighborhood Alliance (CANA) for the development of a children's play area in Enslen Park.

Iam saddened to learn the passing of Dr. Andrew Soderstrom. When my son was very young he seen Dr. Andrew and Dr. Peter Sodorstrom for his special needs of dental care. My deepest condolences to his wife Liz and their children and grandchildren, their family and friends. Also the Dentistry Staff. So sorry, may our Lord Jesus strengthen you all and keep you. Dr. Andrew was so kind and gentle with my son. Definitely will be missed. God bless!

Our kids always loved Dr. Andy Soderstrom. He was such a good dentist and loved kids! I was shocked to learn of his passing. We will miss him.

Our sincere condolences to the Soderstrom family as well as the dental family/staff Dr.Andy has cared for our son with intellectual disability for over 20 years. I was heart broken to hear about this.I Just made a call to the dental office Because I knew Dr. Andy would take care of our son who has not been well . I couldnt find an adult dentist In our community that could help the unique needs of our son so Dr. Andy Kept him as a patient . We appreciated all his concerns and care over the years. Im so very Grateful for the great hands my son has been in. And so very sad we have to move on. Again our heart felt condolences to the family and his dental staff.

I am incredibly shocked and saddened to hear about this. Dr Andy was a kind and gentle dentist. He went above and beyond in helping to save my sons tooth after an incident where it was knocked out. My deepest sympathy to his staff and family.

Vera and I send our condolences to Liz and the family. We are very sorry to hear of his passing. I remember Andy best from his devotion to the Community. In particular, he appeared in my Court at least twice as a prospective juror and served at least once. He was one of the few Professionals who did not try to shirk his duty as citizen. In fact, he told me that he always cleared his schedule for a week when summoned in order to fulfill this responsibility, disregarding the financial costs to him. Although he was a member of another Rotary Club, I enjoyed his occasional make-ups at our Club. In particular, I recall vividly the Program he did for Modesto North Rotary involving his pro bono involvement in treating children whose parents had ignored proper hygiene. He will be missed by many in the Community.

Andy was a great person and I was truly honored to know him and be a Rotarian Brother. A sad loss to our community. Andys dad was my dentist when he had his office in the old Beady Bldg on J St. Andy did so much for Modesto. RIP my friend.

Andy and I grew up on the same street and spent quite a bit of time together as children. He was invariably kind and always tried to be a son to make his parents proud and a good role model for his younger sister and brothers. That nice boy a few doors down obviously grew into a kind and caring man. My deepest condolences to his family, siblings, mother. So very sorry for your loss.

I am saddened to hear the news of Dr. Soderstroms passing . He Was a wonderful man who did so much for our community.
