Arthur Cohn Obituary

Arthur "Buzz" Cohn

August 14, 1942 - March 25, 2025

Modesto, California - Arthur "Buzz" Cohn passed quietly on Tuesday, March 25th. He was 82 years young. Buzz, his childhood nickname that stuck for life, was born in Seattle, Washington, later moving to Los Angeles for his father's job at Boeing. Buzz attended Van Nuys High School, and college at both UC Berkeley and San Francisco State. He spent the majority of his working career in the family business in Modesto, where he served as CEO for two decades prior to its sale, and his later retirement.

Buzz was married for nearly 60 years to Kathleen, who he met and fell in love with at Berkeley.

He was a very proud husband, brother, father and prouder grandfather. He is survived by a litany of family and lifelong friends who loved him for his ease, sense of humor, and kindness.

Poppy-I always admire you for your kindness and how funny you are. You can make me laugh with any joke even if I don´t understand it, because of your huge smile and inability to finish the joke without cracking up yourself. I speak of you in present tense because I know you are still with me in my memory, and watching over me all the time. You are the best hugger and I wish I could have started golfing earlier and golfed with you, but I know you are now golfing everyday and continuing to charm everyone everywhere you go! Love you and happy late 82nd birthday!

Poppy-you are the funniest and kindest person in every room. You always make me laugh even if I don´t understand the jokes because of your smile and inability to finish the joke without cracking up yourself. I speak of you in present tense because I know you are still with me, no matter how. You are the best hugger and the best grandfather of all time. I miss you and your hugs so much, I hope you are golfing everyday and I can´t wait to hug you again in many years!

I love you and miss you so much Poppy. You were the best grandpa I could ask for, and you couldn't have been a better person if you tried. I still can't believe you're gone, but I'm glad you're in a better place, and I love you so so much.
