Modesto, California - Bryan Richard Nobbe, 60, more affectionately known as Pop, of Modesto, California passed away peacefully at home on July 1st. He was well known for his loving and jovial personality. He always had a warm smile, a firm handshake and a story for whoever he came into contact with. He described himself as the world's greatest party favor and he was absolutely right. There were no awkward silences around Pop. He could carry on conversations for hours filled with interesting anecdotes and long words that would make you reach for your dictionary. His legendary quick wit and sense of humor would have you laughing even if you were not in the mood. He loved reading any book he could get his hands on. Music was at the core of his soul. An amazing drummer from a young age, he often loved to watch you tube videos of famous drummers and would be seen air drumming right along with them with flair. He loved spending time with his family bowling, camping and playing cutthroat games of uno. He was a proud army veteran, rifle expert, who loved serving his country. He also loved serving in the men's ministry at his church. He often said how those times were some of the best of his life. The many relationships he made with his brothers in Christ were very near and dear to his heart. He loved being a father to his son Russell and daughter in law Nova, a PopPop to his granddaughters Jasmine and Kiara and Pop to his dog Coco, aka Walter. He was preceded to heaven by his son Ryan, sister Linda, brothers Glen and Steve Dominick, mother Jeanne and father Harold. He came to know and love the Lord and trusted in the Lord to see him safely home in his final days. He loved people and he loved life. Pop was truly one of a kind and he will be greatly missed by so many who loved him dearly.
There will be a celebration of life on his birthday July 24,2021 at 10am at The House Modesto Church in the Fellowship Hall with a reception to follow.
There will be a veteran memorial service at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at a date yet tbd.
