Byron Ray Hightower, 40, was born in Modesto, CA on May 6, 1973 and left Modesto on May 3, 2014 to be welcomed home into the arms of Jesus Christ. He graduated from Downey High in 1991. He loved hot rods, motorcycles, jet skis and soda pop. Byron was a motorcycle mechanic and salesman.
His proudest achievement in life was being the father of Trenton Austin Hightower, age 9. Other family members left behind include his mother, Kathy Maderos; father, Stanley Hightower(Pam step mom); sister, Amber Eve Hightower (Ryan Galt, brother in law); Jessi (mother of Trenton); numerous friends, uncles, cousins who will all miss him greatly. Byron was a believer and said he would see us soon.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home - 1050 McHenry Avenue in Modesto. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakewood Memorial Park - 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson. A day early has always been our way. A race to be the first one to say,
I love you, Happy Birthday and make the most of the day! My heart continues to ache. Reality is still foggy and dream like. We were supposed to be the thorn in each other's side for eternity. I simply miss you and wanted to be first to wish you Happy Birthday!

Byron...Thank you for giving me the greatest gift I have ever had, our son, Trenton. You are his hero and his "Big Buckaroo". I can't begin to tell you how proud of you I am that you turned your life around and gave your life to the Lord. It brings us so much peace knowing you are in the arms of Jesus. Every night we go out to find the North Star and Trenton says goodnight to you and asks you to pray for him. So precious. Words aren't enough to place meaning on what we're all going through losing you. We became such good friends and I will miss our daily conversations. You can rest knowing Jeff and I are raising our son in the ways of the Lord and Trenton told me he will love and serve Jesus every day of his life because he knows that was your heart's desire for him. We love you and miss you so much. And like your parting words before you left this earth, I'll see you when I get there. You promised you'd be waiting.
