Carl Oren McNaught went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 11 at Bethel Retirement Community in Modesto.
Carl was born to Thomas and Maude McNaught of Woodlake, California on March 2, 1926.
He was preceded in death by brothers Phillip (Jerry) and Thomas, and sisters Mae Brouhard, Mildred Gordon and Myrtle LeGrand.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Beverly June McNaught.
Carl worked for the Modesto Irrigation District as a Maintenance Electrician for 39 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.  He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, serving his country in the Pacific theatre of World War II.  He earned 5 major battle stars for the major battle operations in the South Pacific.  He was a V. F. W. member and American Legion Modesto Post #74 member.
Carl was an avid sports fan and loved watching the local and Bay Area sports teams.
He is survived by sons Michael (Kitty) of Prescott, Arizona and Danny of Modesto, California.
He was stepfather to Anne (Roy) Keeling of Fresno, Joan (Ralph) Miller of San Jose and Jim (Vikki) Kelsey of Avila Beach.
He was grandfather to Scott and Kelly and step grandfather to Robyn, Joshua, Elizabeth, Alissa, Jimmy and Cody.
He is also survived by sister in law Marilyn (Charles) Lynds of Modesto.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin and Downs.  There is a memorial service on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 3:00 at First United Methodist Church, 850 16th Street in Modesto.
