Cindy Shelley-Fincher Obituary

Cindy Lee Shelley-Fincher
May 29, 1951 - October 20, 2013
Cindy Shelley-Fincher, 62, died Monday morning at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California. She was born to Mildred Fern and John Shelley, and raised in Modesto where she attended Grace M. Davis High School until 1969. There she met her first husband, Steve Hopfensperger, whom she had her daughter Corey. As does happen too often in young love, she divorced and went on to remarry. In her second marriage, Cindy had her son Zefferey, and (step) daughter Tonya. Cindy worked for FMC in Modesto from 1978 until the closure of the company in 1986. She also worked in the past at Gallo Glass, Kraft-General Foods, and then disability until her death. Cindy had a special kind of love and compassion for both people and animals. Anyone that knew Cindy knew she wore her heart on her sleeve, and then would give you the shirt off of her back to help. In 2002, Cindy became a proud Grandmother for the first time to Tatum, then again in 2005 to Gabriel. "Grammy" loved to brag about her beautiful grandkids and is already missed terribly. Cindy is survived by her daughter Corey Schaffer, step daughter Tonya Delgado, her son Zeffery Paul Fincher, and son-in-law, Todd Schaffer. She adored her grandchildren Tatum Schaffer, Gabriel Fincher, Erika Preciado, and Gabriella Delgado. Cindy was known to be called "mom" to many, as well as best friend. She was loved by so many because of her humble and big heart, which she would attribute to having because of her love for God. She is already truly missed.
Private graveside services are being held on Friday, October 25th, 2013 at Wood Colony Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, 4:30pm.

I just heard about Cindy passing. My prayers are with the family. May Cindy's faith be an anchor for you all now. Hold fast to the faith and you will meet again. Cindy and her mom, Mildred were an ever present source of fun in my childhood. My mom, Billie and Mildred and us kids made many vacation trips together. I have very fond memories of them all!! God bless and comfort all who loved her.
