Modesto, California - Daniel Lee Haran (71) passed away peacefully at his home in Modesto on November 7, 2024. Dan was born on June 10, 1953 in Lodi, California to parents, Jake and Bette Rae Haran. Dan was a long time resident of Modesto for over 50 years and was also a resident of Ceres for 15 years.

Dan worked for the City of Modesto for 33 years, where he made many lifelong friendships with the people he worked with. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed golfing and umpiring baseball and softball games and refereering Highschool football games. Dan loved traveling across the US, going to Rock N Roll concerts and helping out at his brother's Smog shop. The biggest joy of Dan's life were his grandkids, he loved being a grandpa more than anything. Dan will be remembered for his joyful sense of humor, his hard work ethic and his ability to make friends anywhere he went.

Dan leaves behind his children, Shane Haran (Monika), Troy Haran (Sandy) and Rachelle Menten (Brian); his grandchildren, Gunnar, Gage, Raiden, Dahlia, Kolten, Sophia, Finnegan, Harper and Esther. Dan also leaves behind his siblings, Marianne Berlinger, Debora Haran, Michelle Haran and Robert (Bobby) Pereira. Dan is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dwain Haran.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at the Old Fisherman's Club in Modesto at 1 p.m.
