David Cannon Obituary

David Cannon
Jan. 1, 1956 - Mar. 20, 2015
Lifelong Turlock resident David "Dave" Cannon, 59, passed away on Friday March 20, 2015 at his home in Turlock, CA.  He was born on January 1, 1956    to Paul and Victoria (Elia) Cannon.
Dave attended school at Sacred Heart, Central Catholic and Turlock High.  He continued his education by attending the Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, UT., where he received his Small Engine Mechanics and Repair Certification.  Dave quickly used his knowledge of small engines to start his first business called Mobile Lawnmower Repair which he operated from 1980 thru 1992 until the time he was involved in a motorcycle accident and was unable to continue.  In 1993 Dave and his wife Becky embarked on their second business adventure, D&R Collectables, a dream that led them both on a series of adventures that would last him the rest of his life.  Within a matter of a few short years they had acquired one of the largest Disney collections in California and sold them all over the world.
Dave and Becky began their life together 41 years ago and were married in 1980. They would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on April 6th.  Dave enjoyed life and loved riding his bike, antiquing, selling on EBay, fishing, swimming at the nearby lakes with Becky and just hanging out with his buddies at the TBA Auto Parts talking shop.  Most of all, he loved talking about his wife and the dreams they shared.
David is survived by his wife Becky; brother Saul "Sid" Cannon; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.  David was preceded in death by his parents Paul Cannon and Victoria Cannon Alahverdi and his brother Paul Cannon Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Fri. March 27, 2015 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Dave's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Please share your memories at
