Modesto, California - It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Constable.
Dennis was born to loving parents John Chester (Jack) and Novilee Fern Riesland Constable in Modesto, California, on April 19, 1952, and passed from this life on October 15, 2022. He was the fourth child of eight children born to Jack and Fern. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gregg Constable and Catherine's son Daniel Holcombe. He is survived by the love of his life Catherine Coley; daughters Alicia (Merritt) Crawford and Holly (Kevin) Clements and son Ryan Constable; grandchildren Megan, Kenneth and Erik Rosenquist, Kyrstin Crawford, Thomas, William and Emily Clements and Chase Constable; great grandson Mason Reed; brothers Gary (Sherry), Keith (Vikki), Dean (Jan), Mark (Sylvia), and sisters Joye Thompson and Cathy Larsen; sister-in-law Janet Constable; Catherine's children Christine (Scott) Zehner, Jason (Lydia) Coley, and Jonathan (Anna) Coley; and daughter-in-law Natalie Holcombe; Catherine's grandchildren Ryan Holcombe, Sophia and Elle Zehner, Madison and Mackayla Coley, Zachary, Brooklyn and Presley Coley; and numerous nephews, nieces and Catherine's entire family who he loved deeply.
Dennis grew up and spent most of his life in Modesto. He never met a stranger; he had the gift of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room. His smile and silly sense of humor were contagious. He loved camping, fishing, dancing and the Blues. His lifelong passion of working out was obvious to all who knew him. Although he had visible muscles, his biggest muscle was most definitely his generous and loving heart. To know "Big D" was to love him.
Den cherished his family and his many friends and always loved spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family wishes to thank Christina, Barbara and Bryce for the excellent care they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tuolumne River Lodge on Saturday, November 19, 2022, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, 2429 River Rd., Modesto, CA 95351. Those wishing to honor Dennis can make a donation in his memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.

I remember Dennis from Golds gym when it was on Mc Henry ave real cool guy I remember him going heavy weights on bench press dumbbells, I was very impressed with his size and strength I remember him being a real nice guy calling me little big man real friendly guy, wish you were still here working out at the gym I´m at now rest in peace big guy ., Trin

So sorry to see the passing of Dennis, he worked with us,
in the animal care section for Shell, mixing feed for our cattle in Salida. Picking up hay bales was no problem for him........
Always with a smile, and a practical joker.
Always enjoyed his fresh alfalfa sprouts for lunch.
Couldn't believe the V-8 powered bike that he rode.
Rest in peace buddy...........

Dennis was a loving, caring, charismatic individual who made you feel like his best friend. I cared for Dennis deeply and enjoyed every moment I had with him. To Cat, the most caring and supportive person I have ever met, you were the driving force and motivator when it came Dennis´ rehab. There were no if ands or
Buts about you. I gained a friendship for life through the lovely life that Dennis led and I couldn´t be more happy for that!

We were saddened to hear about Dennis’s death! We relocated to Tennessee 18 months ago and have been kept up-to-date of some of the happenings in Modesto by a close friend; She sent us Dennis’s obituary which arrived today. We are so grateful for the time we knew him. We were neighbors on Del Vista Avenue, he was our daughters family’s landlord for a time, and he and his son Ryan poured cement in our backyard on Del Vista. We always enjoyed his humor, his love for his family and his willingness to help; Dennis was just a big teddy bear with a heart of gold! May this legacy live on for many generations to come!

Knew Dennis through mutual friends, and had the chance to spend the weekend with him in Vegas while at the drag races there. Have to say it was a fun weekend and Dennis kept us entertained with his sense of humor and smiles. We stood and did a lot of people watching and had some great laughs together. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.
