Donald Borrelli Obituary
May 9, 1941 - December 22, 2024
Turlock, California - Donald F. Borrelli, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024.
Born on May 9, 1941, in Hughson, CA, Donald was raised in Hilmar, where he graduated from Hilmar High School in 1959.
In 1965, Donald married the love of his life, Phyllis Gomes, and together they built a beautiful life in Turlock, CA.
A dedicated worker, Donald spent his career with Fairbanks Trucking and Gallo, followed by 25 years of service with the California Highway Patrol, where he left a lasting impact.
Donald was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock and lived his life with faith and integrity. He found joy in golfing, fishing, tending his beef cattle and attending 49er games. After retiring, he and Phyllis were members of the All-Seasons RV Club with whom they took many trips.
Affectionately nicknamed "Brillo" by best friend Howard Knapp, Donald enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and especially with his beloved wife Phyllis whom he cherished. They met at a dance in their teens and anyone privileged enough to see them dance over the many years witnessed how deeply in love they were.
Donald is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Phyllis Borrelli; his loving children, Scott (Melissa) Borrelli, Lynette (Tim) Glidewell, and Nicole Smith; six cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Sophia Borrelli, Lyla Glidewell, and Ethan, Camden, and Liam Smith; and his sister, Yvonne Fortado.
A celebration of Donald's life will take place at 12 p.m., on January 9, 2025, at the American Legion Post 88 on 75 Bothum Road, Turlock.
The family thanks Seva Hospice for their tremendous support. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to your local hospice.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I may have attended school with Don & his sister, Yvonne in the Westport School district. May God give all the family the strength and courage that they may need to help them cope with the challenges due to the loss of a loved one. RIP Don.
