DOUGLAS A. CAULKINS OCT. 7, 1948 - JULY 17, 2008 Doug Caulkins, died suddenly and unexpectedly in his home on July 17, 2008. Born in Corning, California on October 7, 1948, his family soon moved to Ceres, California, where he grew up and lived in the same home until the time of his death. He attended Ceres High School, graduating in 1966. In 1982, Doug began his latest career with Foster Farms, recently retiring with over 22 years of service. He was also an active member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 588. Doug is survived locally by his Aunts, Barbara Martin Fields of Danville and Lois Thompson of Ceres; cousins Melanie Headrick, Dina Medici, Kelly Martin, Maureen Still, Karen Sheppie, Nick Nichols, Stanton Denny Denlis, Mike Denlis, July Olson, and Nancy Ash. He is also survived by other cousins in the Unites States and Canada as well as numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, his mother Dorothy, and his brother Wayne. Doug was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and loved to travel as often as he could. Whether it was Half Moon Bay or Halifax, he loved to get away and always took his camera. He was an extremely loyal friend and will be missed dearly, but will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
