EDWARD PRINS JUNE 3, 1911-SEPT 15, 2010 Edward Prins passed away at Bethany Home in Ripon on September 15, 2010 at the age of 99. Edward Prins was born June 3, 1911 to Peter and Johanna (Van Surksum) Prins in Minnesota. Edward, a resident of Escalon for 45 years, leaves 4 children and spouses: Edwin (Anna Jean) Prins of Escalon, John (Marge) Prins of Modesto, Arlo (Rita) Prins of Palo Cedro and Jolene (Willie) Bylsma of Oakdale, 16 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Edward is survived by 2 sisters in Edgerton Minnesota, Annie VanderBroek and Trina Bouma, 1 sister Hattie Terpstra in Buckeye Arizona, 1 brother Cornie Prins in Grand Rapids Michigan and 1 brother John Prins in Sanborn Iowa. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Eva Prins, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, an infant daughter, his son Larry Prins, and a great-grandson Tyler VerKaik. Edward Prins and his family moved from Minnesota to Escalon in 1963. Edward was employed by Bill Boersma at the Escalon Sales Yard. Edward was a member of the Escalon Christian Reformed Church for 46 years. Edward enjoyed woodworking, playing pool at his home, fishing and spending time with his family. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 19 from 3-5 pm at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon. The Memorial service will be on Monday, Sept. 20 at 11 am at the Escalon Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Burwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethany Home in Ripon or to Ripon Christian Schools.
