Frank Minerva Obituary

FRANK J. MINERVA AUG 26, 1940-NOV 30, 2008 Frank was born in Queens, New York to John and Cecilia Minerva. He was the youngest of seven children. Frank moved to Los Angeles, California with his family at the age of 5. Frank attended Reseda High School where he met the love of his life, Barbara. After graduating in 1958, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably for four years. Frank and Barbara were married in 1962 in Encino, California. Frank began his career in the dairy business in 1965 and spent 14 years with Knudsen Dairy. He later ventured into a partnership, E&H Distributing, providing dairy products to customers throughout the Central Valley. The business was later sold to Producers Dairy where Frank was employed as an independent consultant for the past seven years. Frank loved life and was very passionate about his family and his many close friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting classic automobiles, attending car shows, and gathering with friends who shared his passion for cars. Frank made friends wherever he went, touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara; his son, Leonard Minerva and his wife Jill of Ceres; his daughter Debbie Armstrong and her husband Jim of Modesto; and his daughter Michelle Seyle and her husband Michael of San Diego. Frank is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren; his brothers, Dan Minerva and Lou Minerva and his wife Betty; John Minerva and his wife Dee; and his sisters Mary Romano and Lil Kurtz and her husband Don. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Cassady of San Francisco, his brother Len Minerva of Florida, his brother-in-law Phil Romano, and his sisters-in-law Madeline Minerva and Anne Minerva. Frank will always be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather and loyal friend. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 5th, from 5pm to 8pm at Lakewood Memorial Park. A celebration of life and graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 6th beginning 2:00pm, also at Lakewood Memorial Park. Uncle Frank was such an amazing person with the biggest heart. He had such a loving way of always making you feel welcome and let you know how happy he was to see you. He also gave the best hugs, and I am sure many, including myself, will miss those hugs.

Uncle Frank was the best uncle you could ever have, the kindest sweetest person always. I was so glad to have visited over the summer and let my youngest son see what a great man he was. My son loved his " Easy Thunder" and to this day we say it all the time. (With a smile of honor having known him. Aunt Barbara and family I love you, my thoughts are always thinking of you and what you must be going through during this time.

Barb and The Entire Minerva Family.

We will forever miss Frank and his SweetHeart personality. When the Lord called Frank to be his personal Hot Rod detailer, the Lord also left us with a large void in our daily lives without Frank (Buffy). Frank was always buffing on someones car. Thanks for the loyal friendship Frank. You will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting you...
