George David, 95, of Turlock, passed away peacefully at Emanuel Medical Center. George was born in Gavelen, Iran, to Youkhana and Shaker David. He grew up in Iran and learned construction skills as a young man. In 1937 he married the love of his life, Florence, and they were married for 72 years before her death in 2009. They moved to America and settled in Turlock in 1970. George enjoyed gardening. He grafted and grew fruit trees. He worked as a volunteer at his church and built and fixed things as needed. He worked at Tri-Valley Growers during the harvest season for 12 years. George's greatest love was for his family. He loved holidays and family gatherings. He will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his six children: Shamouil (JoAnn) David, Shalim Khanannya, Shoura Fridi, John (Boulboul) David, James (Jouliet) David, and Milis (Rada) David, all of Turlock, 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation for George will be held on Tuesday, April 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm followed by an Evening Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will be at St. John's Assyrian Presbyterian Church, 480 South Palm, Turlock on Wednesday, April 18th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
