George Michael Vieira

GEORGE MICHAEL VIEIRA DEC 1919 ~ MAR 2008 His loving family and friends surrounded George Michael Vieira when he passed away at his home at 88 years of age. George was an independent A.I. Tech for Curtiss Breeding Service for many years and a farmer all his adult life. George was born to Jose Macedo Vieira and Anna Catherine Nee Nunes on a farm on Monte Vista Avenue in Turlock. He was active in Future Farmers of America at Turlock High School. He married Adeline Lena'' Lopes in 1941. Together they bought a ranch in Turlock where they shared many different farming experiences as well as raising ten children. George is survived by his children: Gerald (Mary) Vieira of Denair, Raymond Vieira of Artois, Gabriel Vieira of Turlock, George Vieira of Oakland, Janette (Robert) Pollock of Modesto, Joseph (Dalinda) Vieira of Turlock, Mary Vieira of Modesto, Loretta (James) Ray of Kelseyville, and James (Charlene Eddings) Vieira and Sharon Vieira of Turlock. George has 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, and dear wife, as well as nine siblings. He is survived by his sister, Genevieve Novo of Turlock and his brothers, Carl (Anne) Vieira of Turlock and Richard (Betty) Vieira of Balico. He also leaves beloved sister-in-laws Elaine Vieira of Turlock and Victoria Bettencourt of Hilmar. Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, March 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, March 15 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
