DR. GWENDOLYN ADEL JENSEN OCT. 31, 1920 - SEPT. 16, 2007 Dr. Gwendolyn Adel Jensen, born in Holyoke, Colorado passed away from Lymphoma complications, early Sunday morning, in her Modesto home of 42 years.
Dr. Jensen and her husband of 38 years, the late Dr. Lloyd Jensen moved to Modesto from Sterling, Colorado in 1965 after acquiring teaching positions at Modesto Junior College where she instructed classes in Piano, Music Theory and Music Appreciation. After 20 years of service to the MJC music program Gwendolyn retired in 1985, five years after the death of her husband Dr. Lloyd Jensen. Dr. Jensen earned her Doctorate in Music Education in 1976 after having acquired Degrees in English Literature and Business Administration.
Prior to Dr. Lloyd Jensen's passing, both of the Jensens became immersed in the Lions International Organization; Lloyd was District Governor for many years, which led to their extensive international and national travel. An avid traveler herself, Gwendolyn was also able to visit most of the world on many trips with her music students, as well as on her own personal excursions.
An only child, Gwen is survived by her second husband, Eugene Spindler who now resides in Southern California, and her first husband's extended family in Colorado.
Gwendolyn was a Concert Level Pianist as well as a musical woodwind specialist; she passed on her love of music as well as her love for travel to all those who came to know and love her. A strong, courageous, talented, and humble woman, Dr. Jensen was an example to emulate both professionally and personally.
Her two kitties of 17 years, Coco and Whisper, as well as her Golden Girls'' will continue to love and miss her each and everyday of their lives.
Many years ago Gwen stated, As long as your loved one's memory is held in your heart, they will never be forgotten''. Dr. Gwendolyn Adel Jensen will live on forever.
She changed lives, one at a time, for the better.
Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007; at 3:00 P.M., at Colonial Chapel-Franklin & Downs. Final resting place will be Denver, Colorado.
Remembrances may be made to National Society for Animal League. www.modbee.com/obituaries

We were saddened to hear the news of Gwen's passing and thankful to have her as an aunt. If two words could describe her, they would be: "class" and "character".

I was sorry to hear about Aunt Gwen's passing. I fondly remember her and her Siamese cats when I was child. I wish that my children would have been able to know her also.

We were so sorry to hear about Aunt Gwen's passing. She will be missed. We shared a love of cats, and often enjoyed our cat stories. We are so thankful that she will spend enternity in Heaven because of her faith in Jesus Christ. Judi and Alan Brooks

It is with regret that I receive the news of Gwen's death. She was a talented, beautiful person who enriched my life and that of my Uncle Eugene's in the latter years of their lives. I value having known her. She will be missed.
