Hamilton Machado Obituary
May 22, 1933 - May 14, 2014
Hamilton A. Machado lived in Los Banos his entire life. He worked with his father on a dairy farm. Hamilton went into the Army in 1954 for two years and served in the unforgotten Korean War. He was a helicopter pilot. After leaving the service, he went to work for the San Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement for ten years, started his own crop dusting business for the next fifteen years, and then retired. Hamilton loved to fly, collect tractors, and collet keys and pens. He especially enjoyed meeting with his "buddys" over coffee and talk at Micky D's.
Hamilton belonged to the V.F.W., Native Sons, GPS, Our Lady of Fatima, and Miracles Madonna de Carmel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Machado, his son Joseph Machado, and brother George Machado.
Hamilton is survived by his wife of 44 years, Florence Machado; sister: Hilda Brown, Mary Machado, and Lucille Pacheco; brother Tommy Machado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 beginning with a visitation at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel 5:00-7:00 p.m., the rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, a funeral mass will be held at the Our Lady of Miracles Church in Gustine. Burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery.
Contributions can be made to the Joseph Machado Scholarship Fund. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel~Los Banos.
