ISAAC PETER "IKE" SARGIS MARCH 17, 1923 - OCT. 4, 2006 Issac Peter Ike Sargis of Turlock, CA died October 4, 2006. He was born March 17, 1923 in Chicago, IL where he married Dorothy Baballe of Hilmar, CA in April 1947, and moved to Hilmar, CA in 1949. They then lived in Modesto from 1950-1958 where they had their son, Richard in 1954. White in Modesto, Ike worked at Riverbank Ordinance Plant. Ike was offered employment at Aerojet in Sacramento where they moved in 1958. Ike was a Contract Administrator at Aerojet, until 1967. He then worked at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento for two years, then transferred to Castle Air Force Base where he worked until 1985, then retired. Ike received many certificates of service awards while working with the air force. Ike was an avid bowler all his life, and bowled in many leagues. Ike loved his family, extended family and many friends. Ike enjoyed his casino excursions to pass his time and frequented the Turlock Turf Club where he socialized with many friends.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy, son Richard and daughter-in-law Christina, and his sister Elsie George. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Willy Sargis from Chicago, IL.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7PM, Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at Turlock Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel.
Entombment will follow at the Sunset Mausoleum at Turlock Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to Hilmar Covenant Church or the Holy Apostolic Assyrian Church of the East, Mar Adai Parish.
