Jack Taylor Obituary

Jack E. Taylor
March 25, 1938 - August 15, 2015
Born in Modesto, CA, graduated with the first Freshman Class at Downey High School.
Jack served in the USMC for four years as an Aerial Navigator. Upon discharge, he served as a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and later joined the California Highway Patrol as a Patrolman. After a hiatus from Law Enforcement, he returned to Modesto to serve as a Modesto Police Community Service Officer, retiring in 2007.
Jack was a devoted husband of 54 years to his wife, Mary Julia Taylor (Donoghue). Loving father and father-in-law to William Taylor & Andrea Mansker and Jack & Staci Taylor. Proud "Papa" to five granddaughters: Alanna, Alyssa, Gracyn, Sophia, and Olivia.
His sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet & Bob Wix, Judy & Paul Spencer, and brother, James Taylor, remember him as a kind, loving brother. His "Donoghue Family" have lost a beloved brother. His nieces, nephews and cousins will feel the absence of his sweet presence at the family gatherings. His Aunt Ruth will miss him and their love of Arby's sandwiches.
Jack's life was a wonderful example of a strong, devout Christian who truly loved serve his God, his Family and his Country. We loved him very much and he will be missed.
The Date of a Memorial Service will be announced.
