James Chipponeri passed away on Monday, October 1st at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto at the age of 56. He was born in Modesto to James and Laura Chipponeri and was a lifelong resident of Stanislaus County. Jim was a graduate of Ceres High School and served in the US Army. While in the Army he was invited to play his trumpet in one of the service bands.
Jim was employed as a ditch- tender for Turlock Irrigation District for 10 years. He loved spending time with his sons fishing, hunting and skeet shooting. Jim enjoyed playing his trumpet, singing, playing golf and was just a few hours short of getting his pilots license to fly.
He was an active member of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Modesto, CA.
Mr. Chipponeri is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Patricia Chipponeri of Ceres, his mother Laura Chipponeri of Ceres, sons Chad Allen of Oakdale, James Chipponeri of Modesto and Benjamin Chipponeri of Delhi.
He is also survived by his sisters Lucinda Chipponeri of Lincoln, CA., Jennifer Bond of Lodi, Matia Chipponeri of Ceres and grandsons Benjamin Chipponeri, Dylan Chipponeri and Austin Chipponeri.
A chapel service will be held on Monday, October 8th at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe, Hughson, CA., with inturnment to follow after service. A time of fellowship and remembrance will be held at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church located at 1031 Kansas Ave., Modesto, CA. Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

PatriciaI am sorry for your loss Jim ( Chip ) was A great person and alot of entertainment for his friends. He always brought laughter to everyone he was around. I only met you a few times, but I knew Jim through his friend Donnie Wilson ( who passed in april 3years ago) and really enjoyed spending time with Jim also.
