Jim passed away at home at the age of 91 years surrounded by his wife Kathy and family. Jim was born in Modesto, CA to Charles & Melba Paioni. He went to grammar school in Salida and graduated from Modesto High School. He joined the Navy and when he returned back home to Salida he worked on the family dairy which he eventually bought and worked hard until he sold it.
He was proud of his Italian Heritage, but had never traveled to Europe. Jim and Kathy did a little traveling on cruise ships to Jamaica, Mexico and Alaska. Jim enjoyed being at home with his wife and family. Jim was proud to be a catholic and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Modesto. He is survived by his wife Kathy Paioni, daughters Jennifer Jewell, Kathleen Yeo, Michelle Paioni, Valerie & John Correia, Maryann Kimble, Paula Cavitt, Katherine Brantley and his son Christopher Paioni. He is survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, Sister Susan and Tom Hamrick, several nieces and nephews and his two Chihuahuas Juanita and Peaches and his two cats, Pepe and Mickey and many friends who will all miss him. He was proceeded in death by his parents, infant daughter Roberta (Robbie) Paioni, Sister Pauline Williams and brother-in-law Cliff Williams. Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is assisting with the arrangements for Jims funeral services. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Rosary starts at 9:30 a.m. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Good Sheperd Cemetery on Dakota Ave.
