Woodbury, Minnesota - On January 12, 2021 Jerry went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. He was born June 29, 1944 in Oakland, CA. grew up in Modesto, CA. and graduated from Thomas Downey High School in 1962. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1964 had a tour of duty 1966-67 in Vietnam. He enjoyed his military experience as a jet mechanic and continued in the aviation field for most of his career, including working with National Airlines, Pan Am, Business Express a Delta Connection and Homeland Security/TSA at MSP Airport. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; son, Aaron (Aundrea) of Clemmons, NC; a daughter, Jacqueline Stroebel (Jay) of Maplewood, MN; and three amazing, beautiful and advanced granddaughters, Leah Stroebel, Ashley Stroebel and Emma Grace Hildreth; brother, David (Karin); sister, Elaine Amstutz (John); sister, Janice Cantrell (Lloyd); sister -in-laws, Louise Hildreth, and Jan Hildreth all from CA.; many nieces and nephews in California, Alaska, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Preceded in his death by father, Hubert; mother, Bessie; brother, Howard; brother, Danny; and brother, Jim, all from California. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather (Papa) and wanted people to remember his faith in the Lord Jesus and that the Truth in His Word was his guide. He trusted Jesus in his life and in his death.
Private family service with burial at Fort Snelling. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society. Celebration of Jerry's life to be planned this Summer.
