JERRY ALLEN MAISETTI OCT. 2, 1928 - JUNE 29, 2003
Jerry, loving husband of 47 years to his wife, Pat; and proud father of his children, Mitchell and Michelle; passed away on Sunday, June 29 after a lengthy illness.
Jerry will be remembered as an honest, hard working, loyal member of his community who always put his family and friends first in every decision he made.
Born on Oct. 2, 1928 on a small dairy in rural Patterson, he worked hard to help his family through the Great Depression. Jerry went to local schools and was a stand-out football player and wrestler for the Patterson High School Tigers. His football team of 1946 was undefeated, with only one touchdown scored against him the entire season. After high school, he attended MJC, where he recieved his degree. When his country called, Jerry answered. He played football for the Army through most of his enlistment, and was stationed in Okanawa, Japan.
Jerry had a long career with the United States Department of Agriculture in the Animal Inspections Division. He loved to go to cattle auctions, even though it was his job, he talked about them long after his retirement.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by brothers; Lee James and Harold James; daughter-in-law, Tammy Maisetti, and grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jordan, and Jaxon Maisetti; Justin Liden and Clarissa Carson; and a Great-grandchild, Justin Liden II. He is proceeded in death by his father Simone Maisetti, mother; Nevada Maisetti, and sisters, Mary and Margie.
Services will be held at the Covenant Church in Patterson at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 5. Lunch will follow interment, at the Covenant Hall. Remembrances in Jerry's honor may be sent to Hospice of Modesto.
