John Van Hofwegen Obituary

JOHN O. VAN HOFWEGEN
MAY 2, 1927 - AUG 16, 2015
John 0. (Jack) Van Hofwegen passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior on August 16, 2015 in Alamo, CA. In the presence of Jesus he is united again with his dearly beloved Wilma (Oct. 25, 1929 - July 25, 2013), with whom he was married for 65 years. He is also joined again with his daughter Sue and little grandson Brian.
The family takes great comfort in the biblical truth as expressed in the Heidelberg Catechism:
Q. "What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. That I am not my own but belong - body and soul, in life and in death - to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,  and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him."
A memorial service is planned for August 30, 2015 at 4:30pm at Napa Valley Community Church in Napa, CA.
