Judy Rego Obituary

Judy Player Rego
June 20, 1951-April 4, 2017
Judy Player Rego passed away on April 4, 2017. She was born in Columbus Georgia on June 20, 1951, to Bill and Ruby Player. In November 1968, Judy was working at Ft. Benning, Georgia recording documents to micro film when she met Michael Rego who had been stationed there after returning home from service in Vietnam. They married on October 17, 1969. Michael was from California and so they both moved there when he was discharged. After settling in, Judy went to school and became a licensed vocational nurse. She worked at that profession for 30 years until retiring ten years ago. Judy  was an  extremely intelligent, kind and gentle person who never refused to help others in need. She was always a consoling voice of reason to everyone even as her illness became progressively worse. She was loved so much and will be deeply missed by her husband Michael, daughter Holly  Anastasia and  granddaughter Zoe. For them, life will never be quite the same without the presence and inspiration of this beautiful woman who so enlightened their lives. A celebration of her life will be held in the near future when deemed appropriate by her family.

I love you, Mama. You will never be gone from my life, and I just want you to know, you never disappointed me, never made me feel unloved, and I couldn't have been given a better mother. My you finally be at peace, with no more suffering, no more pain, and never under the false assumption that you were the orphan no one wanted. You were and are wanted. And loved. I love you. Your only daughter, and the only child, I will try and honor your memory in the best ways I can. Not GOODBYE. Just, See You When I Get Home.
