Karl Andrew Englund, born on October 13, 1957 to Luther and Elvira (Carlson) Englund in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. He grew up with two sisters Beth (Alan) Adams and Marti (Bill) Anderson and a brother Dan (Julie) Englund and spent much of his youth in Minnesota and California graduating from Hilmar High School. He attended Modesto Junior College and graduated from Covenant Bible College in Canada. He met his wife, Joyce Nordlinger, while working at Mission Springs Conference Center and they were married April 19, 1986. They established their home in Chicago and Bethany Beach in Sawyer, MI. They were blessed with four children, Kristin, David, Greta and Matthew for whom he provided well with his work ethic and willingness to meet the needs of those whose paths he crossed. Karl passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Allstate Insurance where he worked for almost 30 years. In addition to his wife, children, parents and siblings, and sister-in-law, Dawn Nordlinger, Karl is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family who loved and respected him as well as by many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Edgebrook Covenant Church, 6355 N. Spokane, Chicago, IL 60646 at 3:00 p.m. with a time of visitation the hour prior to the service.
Memorial Gifts may be given in his name to Mission Springs, 1050 Lockhart Gulch Road, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.

Karl was a kind and gentle soul and I was happy to have known him. We worked together at the APCC for many years, and he was one of the "good guys". He will surely be missed.
