Leo J. Durossette
June 24, 1933 - November 26, 2020
Friday Harbor, Washington - Leo Durossette was born June 24, 1933 in Muskogee, OK, to William and Mildred Durossette and passed away November 26, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in his final days. The family moved to CA in 1944 and Leo graduated from Modesto High in 1951. He served as a tail gunner in the Air Force during the Korean War. Married Evelyn Running in 1958 and had daughter, Debi and son, Steve.
He worked for the County for 20 years before retiring as Asst. Civil Engineer, after which his business ventures included real estate, building, developing, and sub-dividing, the Stone Pony, oil drilling, in OK and the invention of an oil filter.
He loved traveling and had been to Europe, Iraq, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, daughter Debi Frazier, son Steve (Jill) Durossette, granddaughter Tawny (Jason) Garcia, grandsons Tyler and Toby Frazier, grandsons Drew (Andrea), and Trey (Jaclyn) Durossette and 7 great grandchildren, Jaden, Gavin, Gracie, Josie, Addy, Avery, and Nash.
Siblings include sisters Jane (Benny-deceased) Harden, Kay (Jay) Hurst, Sheri Morning-Souza, brother Doug (Bernie) and many dear nieces and nephews.
Leo loved all sports (Go Niners!), a good game of poker, pulling the toes of all the youngsters in the family, and hosting holiday parties for family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Services pending in Friday Harbor, WA.
