Modesto, California - In Loving Memory of Linda Lee (Fenton) Ollar
Linda passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of motherly love, grace and quiet strength through all of her life's ups and downs.
Born on April 16, 1941, in Antioch, California, Linda spent her younger years in the beautiful foothills of Big Oak Flat. She graduated from Sonora High School in 1959 and attended Modesto Junior College.
Linda possessed natural artistic and musical talent. She was also a natural beauty and participated in the Miss Modesto Pageant in 1960. Her long brunette hair, crystal blue eyes and cute dimples, combined with her soft spoken demeanor, were all qualities we will fondly remember. She was a gifted writer and pianist who privately composed songs such as "Little Mountain Town," a tribute to her childhood.
After college, she pursued a career as a legal secretary, working with several prominent attorneys in Modesto. She took great pride in her work, demonstrating meticulous care and professionalism in everything she did. She met her future husband, Carroll "Sam" Ollar, at A&W in downtown Modesto, marrying him in 1962 for 27 years.
Her greatest joy was raising her two daughters and Pekingese dogs. She is survived by her loving children, Shari Cheves (Brendon) and Mandy Lawrence (Jim); five grandchildren, Tyler, Jamie, Marissa, Julie and Jack; a first great-grandson due in November; and 101-year-old half-sister Pearl McKinley in San Diego.
Special thanks to Dale Commons Senior Living and Hospice for the wonderful care they generously gave Linda over the last year.
Services will be held at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon on July 2nd at 11 a.m. A private burial will follow at Burwood Cemetery.
