Marlene Wilson Obituary

Marlene Dolores Wilson

June 27, 1933 - July 10, 2025

Modesto, California - For her parents, Marlene chose her father, Glen, and her mother, Martha, as they would provide the opportunities to experience the life events she came to learn. However, a decision by Glen early the marriage led to his non-participation in Marlene's life and shows a karmic connection to her mother. Sans a male influence early in life, the uncertainties, influences and fears would, over time, teach Marlene that we come into this life with gifts that inspire us, and challenges that are opportunities for growth.

As eternal celestial beings sojourning on earth, the physical experiences are full of choices. Frustrating, difficult or painful times teach that bad choices have consequences which, some of us know but, most of us don't. Suffering and overcoming can teach about forgiveness, which is the hardest thing to do, but we all have to do it. Free will gives us that choice.

Other choices in Marlene's life included helping people, causes, and organizations, all reflecting her deepest values. But helping those who had no voice, the animals, was her life-long focus, as she spent over thirty years rescuing and finding homes for them. Blessings came from complete strangers who gave her money to help out, but her extended soul family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, life-long friends and the many new ones, were also the many gifts in her life.

In Marlene's quest for understanding, it has been a soul-growth journey of discovery-who we are, why we are here, and where are we going? Lessons learned and much accomplished, it is now time to leave. She leaves her daughter, Debbie; son, John, and grandchildren; Amy, Nick, Matt, Christina, Art and Simon, plus numerous great-grandchildren, among them Abby, Jarom, Ella and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Ronald and Douglas.

God bless all of you on your journey of discovery. Keep the faith, as His ways are not past finding out. "In my father's house there are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, you may be also."
