Modesto, California - Mary Anne (Sazama) Hubert, age 92, accepted God's call on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in her home in Modesto, California, surrounded by her children. Mary was born on the family farm in Shawano County, Wisconsin, the third of five children to James A. Sazama and Anna (Steinke) Sazama. Mary was raised in Shawano County, graduating from Shawano High School in 1948. In 1955, Mary married Anthony Hubert in Gresham, Wisconsin and they were blessed with four children. They initially raised their family in Menasha, Wisconsin, until 1968, when they relocated to Modesto, California.
Mary spent her entire career in banking, finishing with Bank of the West after 64 years in the industry. She was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, OLF Seniors Club, and the Order of Hermann Sons Lodge #50.
She loved to travel with Tony, especially driving cross country from California to their lakeside cottage in Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Tony Hubert. She is survived by her sister Diane (Dennis) Kuhn and her four children: Theresa Hubert, Linda Allen, and Kathy (Jack) Mulder of Modesto, and Dan (Lynn) Hubert of Granger, Indiana, eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass for Mary will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Modesto on Wednesday, June 21st at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Thursday, June 22 at 11 am.
Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church, 501 W. Granger Ave. Modesto, CA 95350

Oh my goodness, what a fun boss, and friend, to be around for many years at United Calif Bank. Many memories of Mary and Tony. When you went to their home they fed us so much food. Her pies were amazing. They were a true loving couple who loved life. Her children were blessed with such great loving parents. She is with her beloved Tony now.
