Dear Michael - I am a Long Lost cousin - My name is Kevin Forrest Patrick Coons - Your Father was my Dad's younger brother - When we all left Colorado we never kept up but I am still saddened by your departure and I am inspired by the kind words of your Brothers and Family and Friends - I wish our paths were more connected and I wish your Family and Friends the Very Best of your Heart! Godspeed - Respectfully Kevin [email protected]

Hilda, Lee, Tim, Sean and family,
I was very sorry to hear of Michael's passing even though we have not been in contact for years. My older brother came across Mike's name on the internet and sent the news to me. By way of explanation my name is David Michael Coons and Mike's dad (Leo) and my dad (Benton “Ted”) were brothers. I have not seen or talked your side of the family ever since we lived in Denver. I guess we all move and don't keep in touch. I do hope this note finds it's way to you and that I am sorry for your loss. Please email, I would love to talk to any and all of you, [email protected]
Love to all,
David

Mike, you were definitely a unique individual. I hope that you knew just how much your family loved and admired you for all that you had been through. You are forever in our hearts. Until we meet again...and don't worry, I will bring the eggs.

Mike you will missed by me every day. I will miss our lively debates. We were both a lot alike in the fact that we both had to be right. I will miss no being able to pick up the phone and tell you about the new cool tool that I seen or tell you about some hair brain idea I have. You were a good brother to me and a good uncle to my children and you will be missed by all. Love You.

I remember Michael as a private person with strong family ties. When he spoke of his Mother the love he had for her was evident.
He was a man of character with honest qualities that are somewhat rare in this day and age. Always courteous with a ready smile, but able to put a person in their place quickly if need be. He had a unique sense of humor and will be missed. I believe he is in a better place and with God now.

Society casts a role of what a brother or a father or a son should be, Mike didn't really fit the mold. But, as much as I know in my heart that I loved Mike, I also know how much he loved his mother, his brothers and his children. I will forever miss my big brother.

I'll miss you Mike, what we had, what I've lost, what I took for granted...but then I smile thinking maybe Hardy was there waiting for you.
