Michael Rood Obituary

Michael Ralph Rood
December 11, 1949 - November 18, 2013
63, of Modesto, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 18th of November 2013. He was born the 11th of December 1949 in Burkburnett, Texas to the late Robert and Norma Rood. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Michael is survived by his dearest beloved wife, Mary, his sister, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherish beautiful memories of their "Uncle Mice".
An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved duck hunting and fishing, especially with the Tri City Duck Club. He was proud to be the Chairman of the Board of the Housing Corporation for his fraternity at U.C. Berkeley, the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha, and he was a devoted Cal football fan, for better or for worse. Michael also enjoyed spending time with the Oakdale badminton club.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 on Monday, November 25th 2013 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 709 J. Street in downtown Modesto. A reception will follow.
In lieu of customary remembrances, Michael's family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in his honor be directed to The Salvation Army at www.donate.salvationarmyusa.org.
