March 10, 1970 - May 27, 2023
French Camp, California - Michael John Van Unen passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2023 at the age of 53.
Michael lived most of his life in the Ripon and Manteca area and attended grade school at Ripon Elementary School and Ripon Christian. He graduated from Manteca High School and worked as a plumber for 30 years. He loved working on computers, cars and riding his motorcycle. He also loved playing guitar and recording music for others. He had a kind heart and a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Michael is preceded in passing by his father, Sam Van Unen. He is survived by his mother and step-dad Cathy and Neil Van Duyn; brother, Brad (Ryan) Van Unen of Ohio; sister, Kris (Doug) of Iowa; 3 step sisters, 2 step brothers and their families; as well as 3 nieces and a nephew.
Deegan-Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve Michael's family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Reformed church in Ripon. Please make any memorial donations in Michael's honor to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.

Grief can be so hard, but the memories we've created help me cope. Remembering you and all that you've done for me in the 20 yrs that we have known each other,and the shopping trips we went on for my helmet,riding gear my leather jacket boots etc,the bike rides we'd take to the top of the hill on the Hyabusa and i'll never forget that wheelie you rode with me on the back on your Decatti. Thank you for all the memories we've made throughout our 20yrs of friendship. R.i.p Mike
