Miriam Jorgensen Obituary
December 17, 1930 - April 23, 2023
Ripon, California - Miriam Jorgensen, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Ripon on Apr. 23, 2023. Miriam was born on Dec. 17, 1930 in Modesto to parents, Smith and Margaret Bibens. Miriam graduated from Modesto High School and attended MJC. It was during college that she met and married Frank Jorgensen. After Frank's time in the military, the two lived in Turlock for 10 years then moved to Ripon where they have resided ever since. As an active member of P.E.O for over 50 years, Miriam held all offices including president. She also served on local and state scholarship committees and volunteered as a Pink Lady for many local hospitals. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Modesto, where she sang in the choir for many years.
Miriam loved spending time at their cabin and traveling the world with Frank by her side. One of Miriam's favorite past times was playing Bridge. She belonged to several bridge groups where she made lasting relationships with friends. She will be remembered for her handmade delicious desserts that she would share with all of her friends and family, her graciousness and her ability to see the good in everyone she met. Miriam leaves behind her husband of 72 years, Frank Jorgensen, her children, Margaret Ann Sharp, Carol Ann Deathriage and Robert Eric Jorgensen (Debbie) and her daughter in law, Connie Jorgensen. Miriam also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Clifford Jorgensen and her brothers, Robert and Maynard Bibens.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Jorgensen family. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. A graveside is scheduled for Friday, May 12 at 10 AM at Ripon Cemetery and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 11AM First United Methodist Church in Modesto. Donations in Miriam's memory may be made to PEO Scholarships or the Alzheimer's Association.
