Nathan Strube Obituary

Nathan William Strube
August 12, 1998 - May 8, 2012
A precious son entered heaven's gates on May 8, 2012, after a very tragic accident. Nathan was born on August 12, 1998, in Walnut Creek, CA. He attended Mendenhall Middle School in Livermore where he was in the 8th grade. He had a heart of gold and was brilliant. Nathan was ready to serve others and make them laugh at all times. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his friends and family, biking,  skateboarding, and working in the garage and going to swap meets and car shows with his dad. Nathan is survived by his parents, Sam and Katie Strube and his brother Calvin, all of Livermore, and by his great-grandmothers Kay Lee of Ohio and Marie Ciraolo of Modesto, grandparents Fred and Jeanne Rupprecht of San Jose, Tom and Sharon Unternahrer of San Jose, and Sandra Strube and Steve Mohasci of Modesto. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. A celebration of Nathan's life service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 5 pm, Sunset Park, 1055 Geneva St., Livermore, CA 94550. All are welcome. Please bring a blanket to sit on. Nathan will live on as his corneas and heart valves were donated so that others could have a full life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Nathan Strube Memorial Fund, Act. # 226352 UNCLE Credit Union, 2100 Las Positas Ct., Livermore, CA 94551 or to the charity of your choice.

Dear Strube Family,
Our family is stunned by your loss. Our grandson Lance knew Nathan through skateboarding and my granddaughter Oceana is a student in your science class. Everyone that has known Nat had nothing but good things to say about him and his character. You can be proud of him.
The Lord really wanted him and took him into his heavenly realm. Our prayer for your family is that you all know that he is in the best place and love is all around him. God bless your family.

Sam, Kate and Cal,

I am Devin Parker's "Namma" and Nate was Devin's best friend. My heart goes out to you for your loss. To express my feelings I made a poem that I dedicated to Nathan. There is an audio version on my website "birdpoet.com" if you would like to hear it.

The Significance of Nathan

It is not a dream
The nightmare is real
How can life be
So incredibly cruel

The tragedy of a child's death
Changes your life forever
The future is shattered
However do you recover

Your heart is filled
With incredible pain and devastation
No words can express
This painful emotion

No matter
How your heart has been broken
The significance of Nathan
Will never be forgotten

The pain of his death
Will never go away
We will treasure him
In our hearts
Today and everyday

Dear Kate, Sam, and Cal,
We are shocked and saddened beyond words to hear of Nathan's death. He was such a sweet young man. It seems just yesterday that he was a baby, but he had grown into a fine young man. Where did the time go? We pray that the happy memories will sustain you, and that the very real hope of Heaven will give you peace during this time of physical separation. We will pray for you, dear friends, and will support you in any way we can. You WILL see Nathan again, and when you do, there will be no more sadness, no more pain, no more death. Hold on to that hope with all that you have in you. God is still in control, and He loves you very much. So do we.

Katie,
So very sorry for your loss. From everything I saw and read about Nathan it's obvious he was a really great kid.
Being a father of two boys this hits very close to home for me, also because you are part of our Rancho and Livermore community.
I wish you and your family all the strength you can muster to help you deal during this difficult time.

Warmest Condolences.
