Dear Family of Nathaniel Troy Evans, Please accept my condolences on the recent death of your beloved Nathaniel. A few words especially to Nathaniel's parents: I relate to your grief for I, also, am a bereaved parent, having suddenly lost my daughter, Melinda Rose Silva, @ age 28, on 1/6/05. And, so, I extend to you special bereaved parent condolences for the difficult lifelong deep grief journey you are now traveling.
I write, also, to let you know that I and several other area bereaved parents have recently formed the Modesto/Riverbank Area (including Oakdale) Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a non-profit grief support group for parents, grandparents & adult (over 18) siblings who have experienced the death of a child of any age due to any cause at any time. We will hold our next grief support meeting on Thursday, September 10th, @ 7pm @ the Community CASA, 2201 Morrill Rd. (NE Corner @ Oakdale Rd.), Riverbank.
You are invited to join us on the 10th (or thereafter on the second Thursday of the month, same time, same place); no pre-registration is necessary. Probably of particular interest to Nathaniel's sibings is that we have a Sibling Group as part of our Chapter and, at our September 10th meeting, we'll provide the opportunity for a separate Sibling Sharing Session. .
If you would like more information or "just to talk" (perhaps about the specialness of Nathaniel) you are invited to contact me, Joanna Rose-Murray, @ 209-484-8276 and/or @ [email protected]. My prayers and healing thoughts are with you during this very difficult time of your deep grief journey.
May you experience some blessings along the way, Joanna

Nate, I haven't seen you since high school. However, when I heard the news, the first things I quickly remembered were all much incredibly positive. I remember you as a guy that everyone was always happy around. You are an incredible artist and whether or not you were using your artistic abilities I have memories of seeing you at lunch always with friends and always with people smiling around you. You are in my thoughts.

Nate,
What a gentle giant. He was the last person to pass judgment on anyone and often the first to offer a hand of friendship. I can still hear his giggle and see his cheesy smile.
Vanessa:
Vanessa was such a good person. She was good all the way through her. She never let anyone treat someone else badly in front of her. She wasn't afraid to stand up for someone. She protected a lot of us through out the years. I wish one of us was there to protect her that night.
They were not alone that night, they had each other and God, and I know Holly opened the gates for them. I pray we all learn from the tragic losses we've endured of the last few years and make better choices. It saddens me how many of these guest books I've signed. I hope we can do a better job of looking out for each other.

Nathan and I met in the 7th grade, He kinda took me under his wing and made me feel like I had a true friend. We went to church together, Santa Cruz, I was his date for Randi Dawns wedding. We spent alot of time together. He was the only boy I ever met that never forgot my birthday. My family called me from california to tell me what happened. Disbelief consumed me. Nathan was an amazing artist and I still have pictures he drew for me. He was my best friend for a long time, Great things awaited him. I'm sick over this and the tear won't stop rolling down my face.. I will pray for the family, especially Nick and Lisa. You will forever be in my heart Nate.

Nate and I didn't talk much after we graduated HS, but I can tell you he's the most awesome, loving and sweetest guy ever! I've known Nate since Kindergarten and we went to school together all the way through HS! Oakdale born and raised! We may have even gone to daycare together. You were such a loveable man. Always smiling and laughing and a wonderful artist. I know you and Vanessa were the best of buds and you will continue to be by each others' side forever. I'll miss you and never forget you! My love and support goes out to the family and friends.

From the moment I met Nate he made me smile, he always knew how to make you smile, even when all you wanted to do was cry... He was kind, compassionate, funny, artistic and amazing... I am thankful and lucky to have had him in my life and I will never forget the time I got to spend with him. You mean more to me than I could ever tell you, Nate and for that I am sorry. A piece of my heart will forever be yours Nathan. I hope you knew how dearly you are loved and missed by all who had the opportunity to know you. I wish I could tell you how much.... My prayers are with your family and I will never forget you.
