Dear Ones,
I remember so much and it fills me heart to know that you all have so many wonderful memories of our dear Paul. We will miss him and we will see him again when we are reunited with him in God's presence. Along with you, I thank God for him and for the example of his life. Especially for a better view of what a father could be....and for his wonderful sense of humor and remarkable laughter.
After reading the entries, I can honestly say "ditto" and really mean it. He was much loved and greatly appreciated.
PAUL
If I knew what to write
I would write a book
With pages so full,
With pages exploding,
From the words leaping
Literally leaping off its pages.
Words and phrases
On pages and pages
Full of moments and days;
Special days spent together
That we'll always remember.
Pages and pages
Telling stories,
Recalling memories,
And praising the traits
The endearing qualities
Of this special person,
That has us all captured,
Forever to treasure
Having known and loved
Someone so caring and warm
Both strong and funny
Always loving and giving
Someone so true and so real.

Dear Daddy
Since I was old enough to talk I have called you Daddy. I miss you very much. My fondest memories of you are you reading from the book of Bible stories that Grandma Schrein sent for my 1st Christmas. The sound of your voice as you read the stories & led the prayers after wards. I can close my eyes & still hear you. In later years, when I would come home for a visit I always looked forward to the time for evening service, led by you.
I remember you baking springla & helping Mother & Eve Lee stuf the turkey for the holidays. That was always your job. I remember going to band concerts with you at Gracada Park & as a child swiming in the river at Legion Park. I miss your arriving at our home, for a visit, loaded with home made soup, a casserol & pie or cookies. Mostley I miss your voice leading the evening prayers. Now your voice will be forever in prayer, to our Lord......I love you....Lorraine

What a truly wonderful man Paul was. His compassion for others was a reflection of his deep and unwavering faith. He accepted everyone as they were, never criticizing anyone who was different.
Paul was a wonderful husband to my mother, Eva Lee, and was always there when anyone, in the family or otherwise, needed help. I loved him as I loved my own father.
Paul didn't do anything spectacular, like find a cure for some dreaded disease, but his impact was more subtle. He was someone we should all aspire to be like. He was a kind person who cared about everyone around him.
My condolences to his daughter, Lorraine and son, Don, and their families.
We will sure miss him and his great sense of humor which he didn't lose, even at the end.
I'm sure he will continue to take care of all of us from afar.

Uncle Paul always had a story to share, his laugh was infectious and a great love of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will miss him dearly, but know that he is in Heaven, at peace, with all who have passed before him. Peace to all.

Most of my memories of Uncle Paul involve the whole family-Uncle Paul, Aunt Freda, Lorraine, Don, and Janet. I always looked forward to spending Christmas Eve with them. My family would go there to watch them unwrap presents because we didn't open ours until the morning. Our families spent a lot of time together with the other cousins. Uncle Paul was always a happy man, smiling and joking. I am glad I went to visit him a few months ago. He has a special place in my heart.
The one thing I think of when I think of him is his home made carrot cake. The best there was.

My memories of my Uncle Paul are mainly from the eyes of a child. Part of the Nebraska farm boy always remained in Paul. I remember Uncle Paul in his freshly laundered striped bibbed overalls, working around in his vegetable garden. He seemed to always have chickens around I remember the incubator and the baby chicks in the garage under a light bulb to keep them warm. Uncle Paul was always trim and fit. He was an organized man who seemed to have a good since of direction and know what should and should not be. Paul led his life with direction from the Holy Bible which was always close at hand. He had a distinctive deep voice and was able to smile and laugh with great ease. He was a man that liked things neat and kept himself that way from his clothes to his short cropped hair. Uncle Paul is happy I am sure, since he lived his life in preparation for his eternity.

I have wonderful memories, as a child, visiting Uncle Paul, Aunt Frieda, Lorraine, Don & Janet, during the holidays. What a great time we all had, especially when the adults went somewhere and left us kids at home. Uncle Paul was always ready to laugh and how he loved his family. He is where he wants to be, with his Lord.

Grandpa Paul, more than anyone else I know, loved life and the people in his life with great passion. His ability to be truly optimistic was a gift and a scared lesson to the people around him. We will all miss him greatly.
