Robert Riddle Obituary
Robert "Bob" Riddle was born November 6, 1934 in Modesto, California at St. Mary's Hospital and passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026 at his home in Waterford, California. Bob grew up in Waterford where he attended Waterford Elementary School and went to Oakdale High School.
He married Arlene Mickle in 1953 and they had four children. They both worked with the dairy cows and Bob farmed with his Dad, Snively where they also ran a fruit drying yard for many years. Both he and Arlene helped to start the Flying W Riding Club and enjoyed many camping outings with club members.
Bob was a member of Community Baptist Church where he helped with the Youth Group. He served on the Waterford School Board where he presented each of his children with their 8th grade graduation diplomas. He also served on the Waterford Recreation Commission where he also played on the men's adult basketball team. He became a Master Mason in 1965; he joined Oak Summit No. 112 Knights Ferry. Bob enjoyed dredging and panning for gold and taught the art of gold panning up at Old Oak Ranch for many years. Bob was an avid 49er fan.
One day a couple of friends talked Bob into going to a single's dance where he danced his way into the heart of Gloria, his soon-to-be second wife. They enjoyed many camping adventures in their travel trailer where they enjoyed hiking and eventually, they graduated into a cabin up in the Dardanelle area. They loved the mountains and spent many fun times up there. They both enjoyed going to church each Sunday together.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Snively and Ruth Riddle; his beloved wife, Gloria Riddle; his sister, Bonnie Telly; his brother, Fred Riddle; his dearly loved children, Lynn Riddle Kline and Lance Riddle; his grandson, Clinton Franks.
Bob is lovingly survived by his sons, Lane Riddle (Kim) and Loy Riddle (Laura); his stepdaughters, Lorie Garcia (Aaron) and Paula Surratt; his Daughter-in-law, Pamela Riddle Machado.
