Penny McColloch-Tyrell Obituary

PENNY LYNN MCCOLLOCH-TYRELL JAN 26, 1960 - MAR 17, 2010 Penny McColloch-Tyrell, age 50, passed away peacefully in Modesto, California on March 17, 2010. Penny was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, daughter and teacher and friend. She was born in Sonora, California to James and Janice McColloch, and was raised in the Modesto area. Penny graduated from Thomas Downey High School in the year 1978, and went on to receive her B.A. in Education, and her teaching credential from California State University, Stanislaus in 1982. She also became a National Board Certified Educator. Penny's life and love were committed to her husband Luke, and her two children, Nicholas and Samantha. Sharing wonderful dinners and going on wine tasting trips with Luke was a joy to her, and watching her children's soccer games, Gymnastics practices, and musical recitals, would make her chest swell with pride. She would always be the first to tell you about Samantha's newest gymnastics conquests, as well as, Nicholas's numerous intellectual endeavors. Penny had spent the last 27 years teaching, guiding, and nurturing the students of Ceres Unified School District. She started her career in a regular classroom, but dedicated much of her career to the Special Education Resource students of Caswell Elementary School. Throughout her career, Penny touched the lives of many young children, who would be quick to tell you that she made their education fun and enjoyable. She will be missed and loved by all her students and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her sister Tammy Lee McColloch who passed away on July 12, 1999. She is succeeded by her husband Luke Tyrell, her son Nicholas Tyrell, her daughter Samantha Tyrell, her parents James and Janice McColloch, her brother James Roy McColloch, several uncles, aunts, and cousins, and her husband's mother, Avis Harripaul. My Dear Penny,

You gave me love, laughter, and everlasting memories.
We were sisters of the heart, and soul. You wrote me a letter to let me know how blessed you were to have
married my brother Luke and you received me as a sister because yours had to leave this earth so young.
I am the one who was truly blessed to have been touched by an angel. Rest in peace my sister, Luke, Samantha, Nicholas, and the rest of your family will carry on for you. In your letter you also said, “If we lived closer you and I would be inseparable”. Just wanted you to know that distance between this Earth and eternity will not change our everlasting bond.

Love Ilene

Dearest Penny..You are so very special..You will remain in our hearts for your smile, your laughter, your love of your family. Although it is hard right now , it will be the memories of our times spent together..your pride in your famity, your devotion to your mom and dad and your love for Disneyland that will help us push away the pain and bring the smiles back again each time we think of you.
Whe your Nick and Sam called me last night.. as sad as I was, I couldn't help but think how proud you would be of your children's strength and love in making sure we would be ther to honor their beautiful mother, You did good girl!
