Peter Russo Obituary

Peter Nicholas Russo passed away on August 5, 2025, in Cottage Grove, Oregon, at the age of 95 years.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Peter spent his youth in Hughson, California. Graduating from Hughson High School. He raised his family in Ceres and then Modesto, California, where he lived for 69 years. In retirement, he loved to travel in his motor coach, enjoyed swing dancing and playing Bingo at the Modesto, Riverbank and Veterans Senior Centers for many years.

Peter served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict where he saw naval combat in the South Pacific. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career as a metalsmith and draftsman. He specialized in stainless steel fabrication and played a key role in the design and manufacturing of highway truck transportation tanks and containers.

Peter is survived by a brother, four children, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great, great grand children.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service Wednesday August 27th, 11:00 a.m., at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA.

There will be a time for fellowship immediately after the funeral to be announced.
