Randy Mears

RANDY MEARS AUG 12, 1961 - MAR 22, 2011 Galen Randal Mears of Modesto died of complications of diabetes at Memorial Hospital with his family members at his bedside on Mar 22, 2011. He was 49. Randy was born in the USAF hospital at Strategic Air Command Headquarters in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. He attended school in Salem, Oregon after living the first 4 years of his life in Modesto. He returned to Modesto to attend Thomas Downey for his final 2 years of high school before enlisting in the USMC. He married the love of his life, Sally Lewis, on Sept 26, 1981. Randy worked as an auto mechanic for many years and had many interests. He was an accomplished photographer, a certified locksmith and a master woodworker. He enjoyed playing the guitar with friends, going to concerts, and was an avid fisherman and camper. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Randy was survived by his wife Sally, his mother Connie Visser and brother Patric Mears of Salem, Oregon, his father John Mears of Modesto, mother-in-law Susan Lewis of Modesto and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends gratitude to Dr. Alex Mari for years of compassionate care and to the nursing staff at Memorial Hospital.
