Richard Pacheco Obituary

RICHARD W. PACHECO NOV 9, 1934 - OCT 30, 2010 Richard, 75, died October 30, 2010 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. He graduated from Gustine High School in 1952. After high school, Richard enlisted in the US Army, where he spent a term in Germany as a Communications Operator. Richard was also past president of the Newman F.D.E.S. Corporation. In his lifetime, Richard did many things to provide for his family. He worked for the East West Dairymen's Cooperative Association and was a member of Teamsters organization for 38 years. Richard drove a milk truck for Myenberg Goat Milk Process-ing, worked in the almond industry for Stuart and Jasper, the walnut industry for William Treshler (son-in-law) and the Jiffy Food Store in Newman, finally ending his working career with Nestle USA. In retirement, Richard became and avid antique collector and yard saler with his friend of many years and fellow collector, Jim Mello. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Pacheco of Newman, children Kim Berry (husband Tom) of Modesto,Trudie Treshler (husband William) of Gustine and his son, Rick Pacheco (wife Karen) of Newman. 3 grandchildren; Chelsey Juarez, Christian Pacheco and Ross Pacheco. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 3rd at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, November 4th at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine. Remembrances may be made to: American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Avenue, Ste 8, Modesto, CA 95350. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman. www.modbee.com/obituaries

I am Larry Lopes the son of Joe and Mary Lopes. Richard is my Godfather. Sadly and by no fault but my own I have not seen Richard since the passing of my parents and for that I am sorry. Along with my parents and many other family members I now have Richard guiding me through my life.
